A First Website the Team Can Run Without a Developer

LRA Services needed their first website — a full presence for a UK legionella and water hygiene contractor. We built it from the blueprint up, page by page, on three core plugins, with every section editable from the WordPress dashboard.

The Context

LRA Services delivers legionella risk assessments, water hygiene monitoring, water treatment and compliance services across the UK, for sectors including healthcare, construction, education, hospitality and facilities management.

The Problem

They had no website at all — this was their first. For a compliance-led business selling to NHS trusts, contractors and facilities managers, that meant no credible presence to send prospects to, no way for a site manager to request an assessment, and nothing for search engines to rank.

Constraints

  • The site had to cover several distinct service lines, multiple sectors and training courses without becoming unwieldy.
  • The team needed to change content themselves after handover, rather than going back to a developer for every edit.

The Approach

Structure before pixels

We started with the blueprint — the page structure, and what each page had to do — then built every page and the functionality behind it. Deciding the shape first is what keeps a multi-service site navigable.

Three plugins, deliberately

The build runs on three core plugins: Elementor Pro for layout, Crocoblock for dynamic content and ACF for custom fields. Fewer moving parts means fewer conflicts, and far less to keep patched.

Everything editable from the dashboard

Content and options are editable from the WordPress dashboard, so the team can change copy, images and structure themselves — no code, and no waiting on a developer.

SEO, images and caching

On-page SEO was set up across the site, images were optimised, and both client-side and server-side caching were configured to keep pages fast.
